Centro Cultural Teresa Pàmies, Barcelona

The Rahola Vidal studio completed the Teresia Pàmies Cultural Center in Barcelona in 2011. Integrated in the block and extending over nine stories, the building houses a library, play areas, further education center, crèche, and a multifunctional auditorium. The project demonstrates how a diverse range of educational courses that appeal to different sections of the population can be provided in a built-up inner-city area. Despite low construction costs, The success of the design and low building costs underscore the exemplary nature of the project. The latter forms part of a city-wide concept for cultural centers in Barcelona that are intended to help upgrade individual districts. Jorge Vidal Thomas presented the project at the IBA_LAB N°1 in Heidelberg.
